Community

Listening, Learning and Building Together

Community engagement is central to the success of High Sea Wind and vital to Gippsland’s long-term sustainability. By listening to local voices, the project can reflect regional priorities, respect cultural heritage, and build lasting partnerships. From the early stages of development, we’re committed to engaging openly, respectfully and consistently with local stakeholders, Traditional Custodians, landholders, businesses, and residents.
Our approach is guided by best-practice principles developed by leading energy and government bodies and shaped by Ocean Winds’ global experience delivering offshore wind projects.
Our Stakeholder Engagement Strategy and other engagement materials can be found on our Resources page.

Fisheries

High Sea Wind is committed to the responsible development of the offshore wind farm and the co-existence with commercial fisheries. We acknowledge that a successful co-existence requires open and transparent communications between the Project and the fishing industry.  Early and ongoing consultation with local fishers helps ensure that traditional practices, seasonal patterns, and safety needs are understood and respected. Input from the fishing community will inform marine studies, access planning, and operational protocols.

Our Notices to Mariners (NtM) can be found on our Resources page.
