As part of the broader OG12 Offshore Wind Developer community engagement initiative, the High Sea Wind team recently visited Gippsland for a series of Offshore Community Days. Held in Port Albert on 12 March, Golden Beach on 13 March, and Sale on 22 March, the events brought together over 200 community groups eager to learn more about the future of offshore wind in the region.
These sessions provided a valuable opportunity for locals to explore the potential of offshore wind energy, hear about upcoming project milestones, and share their thoughts directly with developers. The events were made even more welcoming thanks to the support of the Lions Club, who hosted a community sausage sizzle.
Across all three locations, attendees expressed strong interest in the project, with discussions covering a range of topics including job creation, environmental protection, visual impact from the coastline, and technical aspects of offshore wind development.
High Sea Wind appreciated the chance to connect with Gippsland residents and looks forward to continuing the conversation as the project progresses.
